Le Touquet Day 3
28 Jun 2023
Good Evening Everyone
Day 3 in Le Touquet has been another busy day. Madame Heap certainly likes to keep us on our toes!
After a good nights sleep and a continental breakfast we headed off first thing to the High ropes. Here everyone had great fun and challenged themselves to get the best out of the experience, including a rendition of 'I believe I can fly' from the Y5/6 boys as they zip wired across the forest.
We then had an unplanned stop at a War Cemetery which we had noticed on our way to the high ropes. Here the children were really interested and respectful of the history and the human impact of the Great War. It was a very moving time watching and listening to the children as they walked around the cemetery.
Next it was off to the Boulangerie. We had lunch and a play in the village park before our lesson in croissant making from a very scary baker called Bruno. Bruno had the children speaking french in no time and all he needed was a rolling pin in his hands (who knew!!).
We are now back in the hotel preparing for our evening meal before we head to the beach. Hopefully a few photos will be added in a separate article (unfortunately they take a while to down load); a full gallery will be printed in our news letter at the end of the week.
Just a note regarding tomorrow evening. Please remember that we will be arriving at Bishop Monkton Village Hall, (not school). We aim to be there at 8pm. I will confirm this with Miss Williamson as we make our way North and she will notify you through this webpage.
