Week Beginning 7th February 2022
Good Morning to those of you isolating at home! I hope you are keeping well and staying safe!
Thank you for your patience yesterday.
Below I have set out Maths, Phonics/Spellings/Writing and Topic work for the week. I would suggest Phonics/Spelling and Maths work on a morning, and Topic work in the afternoon as to keep some routine in line with a usual school day.

Reception:
Monday
Practise all the Set 1 sounds we know so far, and ask an adult to make you some simple CVC words for you to show off your Freddy Fingers Skills!
What numbers do we know so far? Find a video on youtube to help you count forwards and backwards within 10!
Whilst awaiting for work, have a think about "Winter" and what winter means to you! Can you and an adult make a little poster all about winter? Think about the 5 senses to help you!

Have another look at our new sound "th". Can you think of any words with this sounds in them? Your challenge today is to have a go at making your own "th" sound card (in cursive), and then look in some of your books at home for words with 'th' in them! Once you have found a word, copy it out on the back of your sound card!

Have another look at our new sound "z". Can you think of any words with this sound in them? Your challenge today is to have a go at making your own "z" sound card, and then have a go at the sheet below!

Tuesday: how many different '10's can you find around your house? On the clock, in a book, page numbers... take some pictures on a tablet!
Wednesday: Can you find '10's of things? 10 honey loops, 10 stones, 10 lego pieces, 10 teddies... you will need to keep one of your sets of 10 for tomorrow!
Thursday: Using one of your sets of 10 from yesterday, today I would like you to explore how we can make 10? We will move onto looking at Number Bonds to 10 after half term, so this is a good start!
Friday: Counting backwards from 10! Have a look at this video and see if you can join in!

This weeks rule: Adding the suffix -er and -est

Task 2/ Writing task: Using these atleast 6 of the words from the word bank, I would like you to use your online research skills to write some comparative compound sentences (where we join two independent clauses/simple sentences together using a conjunction). They can be fun facts about any of your interests! Focus on your continuous cursive writing and making your sentences interesting!
Example: Cyprus is hotter than the United Kingdom, but The Carribean is the hottest.

Ensure to practise your 3's for the week (found at the bottom of the page) at the start of your maths sessions daily to build fluency!
