11th June 2020

10 Jun 2020

Thursday 11th June

So today, at 1pm, we will be having a PRACTISE run of reading a story on Microsoft Teams. This is the trial run and will most probably have some technical hitches along the way, but we will give it a go and hopefully the children will get chance to see some of the children they haven’t had chance to see and connect a little as a class as I read a story! Please do bear with me as this is the first attempt with the children/class! But we will all be fine I’m sure!

In order for you to join the session, you need to follow the below steps:

  1. You should receive an email form Mrs. Wallen this morning with your child’s email on it. You then need to log onto Office 365 (https://www.office.com/)  using this email and the password: Staggering!
  2. Once you log onto Office 365, click on the ‘outlook’ icon and there should be an email with the details of the meeting on it and a link to follow.
  3. Alternatively, after step 1, you can click on the ‘Teams’ icon and it will take you to the teams main page where you can play around and get to know the site. There will be the calendar; this will show you the scheduled meeting at 1pm for you to click on to join.

Please note: You simply just need to follow the same rules and guidelines we would at school in relation to behaviour, dressing appropriately and general conduct. An adult just needs to be nearby to help with any technical difficulties once logged on and connected!

I can’t wait to (hopefully all being well!) see some of your little faces! (I also fully understand that this may be difficult to fit around your work schedules etc. and it is very short notice for today (it has been touch and go with the internet connectivity in school handling the meetings and also getting the emails sorted so I really do apologise!) But all being well it will stick to being every Thurday at 1pm!

This weeks sound of the week (Reception+):

See article for 10th June for further work/links.

Reading and writing:
Enjoy having a read today of the next few pages of Carrot Club!

  -CarrotClub3.pdf-

Then, write me a small paragraph about whether you think you should do things just to fit in, or be proud to be who you are and stand out!

Maths: Multiplication
You have all worked so hard on multiplication and so today I have set you a game to play! You can still use your concrete objects and drawings to help you as there is no timer etc, but this is just a fun way to interact with multiplying!

This is also a multiplication game (ignore the year groups when selecting your differentiation, these are out of date. You can simply challenge yourself however you feel appropriate! On a side note, this game does have a timer on it so only move onto this when you’re feeling confident and ready for that extra challenge!

Feel free to find other games and apps to practise multiplying on, and let me know what you find so I can share this with everyone!

Science:

Remember to fill out your tracker for week 2, Tuesday, and look for progress on your bread experiment! (Week 2 tracker can be found on 8th June page.)

Topic- Music:
You all know and love Miss.Watkinson so I thought we could do some virtual music today! She has set up a channel on Youtube (
https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCVKO51MFhGXH8XdK1bHLyOQ) and has a big mix of music lessons for you to join in with! I have left this open for you to chose which lesson you take part in as resources vary from house to house and when there are so many to chose from I thought it would be silly to chose for you! Let me know how you get on!

Joke of the Week:
Why did the cookie go to the hospital?
Because he felt crummy.

HOPEFULLY SEE SOME OF YOU AT 1PM! PLEASE FEEL FREE TO LOG ON AND HAVE A PLAY AROUND PRIOR TO 1PM!
