Class One Learning WC/ 11th March

Despite it being assessment week in class this week for KS1, we have still managed to squeeze in lots of fun and learning!

EYFS have been exploring Goldilocks and Three Three Bears this week; through storytelling, sequencing cards, role play and through the provision! We introduced some fiddly pattern tracking to build up our Fine Motor skills before then setting up a small world in the tuff tray for exploration and imaginative play! We also put some slime in the outdoor provision to explore- which got many mixed reactions! They have also been mini-post ladies and men after posting some letters around the rec about Monday's surprise, as well as looking for some signs of spring!

Years 1 and 2 -although they have been completing assessments this week- have been learning about adverbs in SPaG, thinking about how we do different actions in different ways. We have been consolidating our timestables and counting in multiples in maths and thinking about how this information can help us with our problem solving. PSHE had us exploring good surpsies and secrets compared with bad surprises and secrets and what we should do if we don't feel comfortable or safe!

Also, we have been invited to take part in a bird drawing activity in collaboration with Nosterfield Nature Reserve! The children have studied and then produced a drawing of a british bird that is going to be put up on display at the reserve itself! We will let you know when the drawings are up so you can go and have a look at your work!

Today we all came dressed in red for Red Nose Day (apart from Miss. Gregory who forgot, but came close with her jumper today- you might spot her in a photo below!)! We discussed with the children why we are wearing red and bringing money in, and what this money goes towards for Comic Relief such a training for teachers in Kenya and books for children in Uganda, before designing our own red noses! We then finished the week with the whole class having some golden time for all their hard work!

Have a look below of our fun filled week!
