Class One Learning WC/ 8th April

What a busy first week back we have had after the Easter Holidays!

This week saw us welcome our wonderful Music Teacher, Miss. Watkinson come back into school! The children thoroughly enjoyed learning about rhythm and beat with lots of jumping around and active learning!

Nursery and Reception discussed where the different animals live, thinking about the new animals that are born in Spring! Linked to this Science, we all went out on a Spring Scavenger Hunt to spot the signs of Spring in our local area. Following on from this, KS1 then did some research about Spring to collect information and facts to create their own informative posters.

Miss. Hall set up a hairdressing tough tray, which involved using our super Fine Motor skills to cut and snip at the different hair styles! We disucssed how only the hairdressers and adults should cut our hair; not to cut each others! We disucssed why we get hair cuts and linked this to our personal hygiene and how we look after ourselves.

Year Two have been looking at money in maths and applying their previous mathematical knowledge and methods to solve problems involving money. We have lots of different price labels in the role play area and the children have enjoyed role playing 'shops', using pennies to make up the amounts to exchange the shop keeper for the product!

We have had lots of excitement with diggers and rollers laying a new path on the recreation area, as well as exploring some new resources kindly donated to our class- we are so lucky!

Lastly, KS1 have helped to sort out our Genre reading books! They were in a bit of a pickle, so we got all the books out and picked out the ones we know, love and would reccomend to a friend, leaving books we aren't inspired by to be taken out of rotation. This have left us lots of space to get some new books! Great Team Work!
