Class One Learning WC/ 10th June

I would like to start by saying a huge congratulations and well done to all the children who sat their phonics screening this week! Every single child did themselves proud and really gave it their all! We are one very proud team of teachers! A huge thank you also goes to all of you at home; for supporting your child in preperation for this!

As well as phonics screening, lots of learning has been happening in Class One again this week!

In Maths, EYFS have been adding- decorating their own 'green' bottles to add onto the wall, Year One have been applying their place value knowledge with numbers to 100 and Year Two have been learning how to tell the time- even down to 5 minutes!

In RE we completed our topic "Who is muslim and what are their beliefs?". We applied all our knowledge from the topic, including who is Allah, who the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) is and the stories he told, Eid-Ul-Fitr and the muslim place of worship- a Mosque- to create a fact filled final flourish!

In Science we observed the changes in our hydroponic-planted broad beans! We documented the changes and made predictions on what the progress will look like in one week in our Bean Diaries. Meanwhile, Nursery and Reception set up their very own bean growing experiment; having learnt about the needs of a plant in order to grow, the children worked out ways to prevent some of the conditions from aiding the plants growth to see what effect it would have. We have some not being watered, some hidden in cupboards and some with multiple beans in one small space!

Take a look below at what we have been up to!
