Class One Learning WC/ 7th October

There has been a lot going on in -and out- of Class One this week!

Key Stage One went on a school Trip this week to the James Herriot Museum in Thirsk to see a 1940's house to round off our History learning! The children were really engaged with all that they saw, especially getting to explore hands on in the dining room and kitchen! We also got to see lots of vetinary role-play step up as well as interactive games and activities! The children spotted lots of things we have explored within our History lessons and it was lovely to see them experience it outside of the classroom! See if you can spot a certain class bear who also came along for the trip!

While KS1 were away, Reception stayed behind at school to welcome some new friends from Fountains School! They showed them lots of the things they explore at school as well as getting out the instruments to create their own band, doing some dancing and break-break activites on the interactive whiteboard and playing in the outdoor provision too!

We have been to church at St. Mary's this week for a Collective Worship with Reverend Jane, talking about how we are stronger together and when we work as a team!

Reception also made and wrote a card for a local person who helps us, in line with their 'People Who Help Us' topic... the post lady! After spending time making it they personally gave it to her to say thank you for delivernig our mail safely everyday!

We have had lots of junk-modelling, team building in provision, maths, phonics, reading and everything in between this week too! We are all very excited as we have arts week next week; which is going to involve lots of painting and looking at the Windrush Generation, linking to Black History Month!

Our Class Dojo total takes us to 232, with lots awarded this week for aspiration, independence and handwriting!
