Class One Learning WC/ 10th February
This week we have been immersed in Art Week! It has been a wonderful learning journey!
Our weeks focus was 'drawing and mark-making', where we started our journey exploring a local famous artist called Lucy Pittaway. We looked at her work and discussed what we could see and what elements were present across her art work. We then critiqued her work and disucussed what we liked and would improve on her pieces.
Next we explored new medium and paper medium; oil pastels, graphite, charcoal and soft pencils, sugar aper, tracing paper and cartridge paper to explore with different textures.
We then picked out the parts we liked from Lucy's work before designing our own final pieces, experimenting with the different papers and mediums!
The children have thoroughly enjoyed their art week and have created some fantastic pieces of work going up on display in the classroom!
We have had some Valentines baking as well as arts and crafts going on too:
"We are our school, we have our roots and foundations in LOVE"
Have a wonderful, restful half term and we will see you back on Monday 24th February for Spring 2!
