Class One Learning WC/ 2nd June
We have had a lovely week back in school, hearing all about the children's half term holiday adventures and activities, and settling back into learning!
KS1 have been continuing their knowledge of fractions, working with unit and non-unit fractions. In English we have started our new topic about biographies. In History we have started to look at two significant explorers: Sir. Francis Drake and Neil Armstrong. Year 2 are continuing to enjoy reading "The Magic Far Away Tree" in their guided reading sessions, while Year 1 have been working really hard in phonics to prepare for the Phonics Screening next week! In RE we have completed our topic of "Who made the world?", we explored how a creator feels when someone destroys their work using playdough, and then wrote God's rules for looking after our World.
Reception have been looking at word endings in phonics, including ed, er, ing and est. In Maths they continue to to embed their knowledge of numbers to 20 and beyond! In RE the children have finished their topic about Special Places, finishing off by comparing a Church to a Mosque and building them with blocks! In PSHE they are learning about being healthy, and have focused on the importance of brushing their teeth this week!
We all enjoyed PE with Mr. Powell on Monday afternoon, and PE with Mr. V on Friday afternoon!
