Year 6 Pupils Transferring to Secondary School in September 2025
Could you please remind the parents of your Year 6 pupils to apply for a secondary school place for September 2025 by 31 October 2024, if they haven't already done so? They can apply online at
www.northyorks.gov.uk/admissions .
For pupils living outside North Yorkshire: Parents must apply to their home authority and obtain information about their application process. If they wish for their child to attend a North Yorkshire school, they still need to apply through their home authority. Information will be shared between local authorities as part of the coordinated admissions scheme.
For pupils out of their chronological year group: If you have any Year 6 pupils working outside their normal year group, parents cannot apply online. They will need to request a paper application form from us.
For new Year 6 pupils after the start of term: It is important that any Year 6 pupil who joins the school is informed about the need to apply for a secondary school place and is provided with a copy of the Year 6 letter.
