Christmas in North Stainley
18 Dec 2024
Dear All
Christmas is coming……. And here is a gentle reminder of some of the events happening in the village over the next few days!
Saturday 21st December at 6.30 – Community Carol Singing round the firepit at the Staveley Arms
Come and sing well known carols with us! There’ll also be mulled wine, hot chocolate and other drinks to purchase from the bar!
Tuesday 24th December – Christmas Eve – Christingle Service in the Village Hall at 4pm.
A new venue for this year – and a chance to make your own Christingle for the service (all materials supplied). A great way for people of all ages to start the Christmas celebrations.
Christmas Day – Christmas Family Communion Service with Carols – 9.15am in St Mary’s Church
Time to get home afterwards to cook the Christmas lunch!
Do come to any or all of the above. Bring your friends, families, house guests, young and less young!
The Staveley Arms have special opening hours over Christmas, a delicious Festive Menu, Quizzes, Folk band and New Year’s Eve celebrations! See their website or Facebook page for all the details.
North Stainley School say thank you and farewell to Mrs Pam Acheson who has been our headteacher for the last year. We wish her well in her new role as a Leeds Diocesan schools advisor. We look forward to welcoming Mr Chris Parkhouse in January as he takes up the role of Interim Executive Head of the Federation of Grewelthorpe, Fountains and North Stainley Schools. He comes to us with experience as a Head of a Harrogate school and then as an Executive Head of a group of 4 rural primary schools in Wharfedale. Most recently he has been running his own educational consultancy business, working in local authority advisory work, as well as coaching and mentoring Heads and Exec Heads.
With best wishes for a lovely Christmas and a Happy New Year
Jane
